University of North Georgia (UNG) senior Anna Cronan was named an honorable mention for the Udall Undergraduate Scholarship at the end of her junior year. The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service and commitment to Native American nations or environment-related issues.

University of North Georgia announces President's Lists for Summer 2023

University of North Georgia (UNG) President Michael Shannon recognized students who achieved a 4.0 GPA during the summer 2023 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade-point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree or dual enrollment programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

UNG confers degrees for summer 2023 graduates

For the summer 2023 semester, the University of North Georgia (UNG) awarded about 460 degrees and 43 certificates to graduates. Almost 300 graduates participated in the summer 2023 commencement ceremony held Aug. 4 at the Convocation Center at UNG's Dahlonega Campus.

Cadets go to military academy exchanges in Lithuania, Taiwan, Romania and South Korea

UNG has added a new program to its military academy exchange program, and two UNG cadets are taking advantage of the opportunity. From Feb. 27 to June 26, the pair of cadets are fully immersed in Lithuanian culture while studying at the General Jonas Zemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania. Other cadets studied abroad in Taiwan, Romania and South Korea in spring 2023.
