The University of North Georgia is a University System of Georgia leadership institution and is The Military College of Georgia. With more than 19,000 students, the University of North Georgia is the state’s sixth-largest public university. The university offers more than 100 programs of study ranging from certificate and associates degrees to doctoral programs.

UNG scores record eight Fulbright Scholars

The University of North Georgia (UNG) set a new record this year with eight students selected as Fulbright Scholars and two as alternates for 2017-2018, placing UNG among the top-producing institutions nationally for Fulbright Scholars.

UNG alumnae selected for internships with Department of Energy

Three recent University of North Georgia (UNG) graduates were awarded internships with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to study at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in Richland, Washington. As part of the DOE, a cabinet-level department of the national government that oversees policies regarding energy and safety on nuclear material, the Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) provides research experience at DOE laboratories to college students on current programs or ones chosen by the intern.

New exchange send first UNG cadets to Polish Military Academy of Land Forces

Two cadets from the University of North Georgia (UNG) will enroll at the General Tadeusz Kosciuszko Military Academy of Land Forces (MALF) in Poland this spring while two Polish cadets are enrolled at UNG and participating in the Corps of Cadets as the first cadets exchanged under a new agreement between the two institutions.

UNG awards more than 800 degrees during fall 2016

The University of North Georgia awarded more than 800 degrees for the fall 2016 semester, including hundreds awarded in commencement exercises held Dec. 16-17 at the university. "We are here to honor you with the richest tradition in the academic community - a commencement ceremony," UNG President Bonita Jacobs said before conferring degrees. "We all know what it took for you to reach this moment. We know that, as graduates of UNG, you will add meaning and value to the lives of those around you. Our hopes and dreams are with you. University of North Georgia announces President's Lists for fall 2016

University of North Georgia President Bonita Jacobs recognizes more than 1,300 students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the fall 2016 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor's degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President's Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President's List.

University of North Georgia announces Dean's Lists for fall 2016

The deans of each of UNG's five colleges - the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics - announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for fall 2016. Dean's List recognition is achieved by having a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B.
