Nine University of North Georgia (UNG) students strengthened their linguistic skills and cultural awareness through a five-week study abroad program in Peru this summer. The experience was part of a partnership with the organization Peru Study Abroad and La Universidad Andina del Cusco.

University of North Georgia (UNG) senior Autumn Sniffen was awarded the Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant to study at the National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan. Originally from Catonsville, Maryland, Sniffen is pursuing a degree in modern languages with a concentration in Chinese for global professionals.

University of North Georgia (UNG) student Autumn Cleymans spent a week in Japan for the Kakehashi Project this January. She earned the opportunity through her first-place finish in the most advanced level of the Japanese Speech Contest held at Kennesaw State University in spring 2023.

Four third-year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students at the University of North Georgia (UNG) gained valuable experience with a clinical rotation in Italy during the fall 2023 semester. The time abroad occurred during the second of three required clinical rotations for the program.

This summer, University of North Georgia (UNG) assistant professor Dr. William Balco stood on the Sicilian ground occupied by inhabitants during the Iron Age and relished learning new elements about their civilization. The anthropology coordinator took nine UNG students to Monte Bonifato, a forested mountain in northwestern Sicily. The University of North Georgia (UNG) has signed an agreement creating a new partnership with the National University of Public Service (NUPS) in Budapest, only the third U.S. partner for the Hungarian university. Two UNG cadets are the first to study abroad through the new partnership.
