The University of North Georgia's Ranger Challenge Black team advances to Sandhurst after winning the Spartan Ranger Challenge hosted by U.S. Army Cadet Command on Oct. 26-29 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. UNG bested 18 teams with 198 total Cadets from the nation's junior and senior military colleges. UNG's Ranger Challenge Gold team also competed at Fort Knox.

In ceremonies held July 28 at the University of North Georgia, graduating cadets were awarded commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army or Georgia National Guard.

The University of North Georgia (UNG) announces the high school seniors who have been awarded the 2017 UNG Military Scholarship. Each year, the state of Georgia offers 42 scholarships worth $70,000 over four years to Georgia high school seniors who attend UNG and plan to commission as officers in the Georgia Army National Guard after graduating with bachelor's degrees. The scholarship pays for room, meals, tuition, books, uniforms, and fees. In addition, recipients get National Guard weekend drill pay, GI Bill, pay for attending Army basic and advanced training, and, for those cadets offered a contract to commission as a lieutenant, Army ROTC contract pay at the beginning of sophomore or junior year.

Victoria Wilder is spending her final semester as a cadet at the University of North Georgia (UNG) preparing to commission as a second lieutenant into the U.S. Army Infantry branch - the first female cadet from UNG to become an Infantry officer.

More than 60 cadets at the University of North Georgia (UNG) were recognized for academic, leadership and military achievement at a March 28 awards ceremony.

On Sept. 11, the University of North Georgia's (UNG) Boar's Head Brigade held the Distinguished Military Students (DMS) Review, conducted annually to honor senior ROTC cadets who have excelled academically and as leaders.

In total, 34 UNG cadets are ranked in the top 20 percent in the nation among more than 5,000 Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) cadets assessed by U.S. Army Cadet Command, which earns them the designation of Distinguished Military Graduate.

In ceremonies held May 6-7 at the University of North Georgia, 49 graduating cadets were awarded commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves or Georgia National Guard.

Chosen by their student leadership, these cadets displayed exemplary character and ability all throughout FROG (Freshman Orientation Group) week training in January 2016. As such, they'll carry their cadet company colors for the entirety of the semester.

On Sept. 20, the University of North Georgia's (UNG) Boar's Head Brigade held the 2015 Distinguished Military Students Review, conducted annually to honor senior ROTC cadets who have excelled academically and as leaders.

The University of North Georgia's (UNG) Corps of Cadets set multiple academic, training and co-curricular records during the 2014-15 academic year, including commissioning a record 81 cadets as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army or Georgia National Guard. Fifty-one of those cadets commissioned during ceremonies this spring and summer.

The University of North Georgia's (UNG) Blue Ridge Rifle team won first place in platoon exhibition performance at the annual Mardi Gras Invitational Drill meet, a national competition held in New Orleans each February.

Some three dozen members of the University of North Georgia's Corps of Cadets were presented military awards and scholarships at the annual Boar's Head Brigade Military Awards Review, held on April 27 in conjunction with the university's annual Alumni Weekend.
