With more than 19,000 students, the University of North Georgia is the state’s sixth-largest public university. 2 UNG cadets earn Boren grants to study in Middle East

Two University of North Georgia (UNG) students, both cadets majoring in Arabic, have been awarded David L. Boren Scholarships to study in the Middle East during the 2014-15 academic year. Sponsored by the National Security Education Program (NSEP), the Boren program provides American undergraduate students up to $20,000 for an academic year's study abroad.

UNG students win scholarships to study in China

The $10,000 Chinese Government Scholarship, awarded by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), is given to only 10 students nationally from among the 400-plus AASCU member institutions.
