The University of North Georgia is a University System of Georgia leadership institution and is The Military College of Georgia. With more than 19,000 students, the University of North Georgia is the state’s sixth-largest public university. The university offers more than 100 programs of study ranging from certificate and associates degrees to doctoral programs.

UNG students receive Gilman Scholarships

Two University of North Georgia students from more than 1,000 students nationwide were awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship for study abroad during summer 2014. A third UNG student received the scholarship for fall 2014.

2 UNG cadets earn Boren grants to study in Middle East

Two University of North Georgia (UNG) students, both cadets majoring in Arabic, have been awarded David L. Boren Scholarships to study in the Middle East during the 2014-15 academic year. Sponsored by the National Security Education Program (NSEP), the Boren program provides American undergraduate students up to $20,000 for an academic year's study abroad.
