UNG's Department of Visual Arts honors seniors, award winners

During spring semester, the University of North Georgia's (UNG) Department of Visual Arts celebrated the accomplishments of its students with the presentation of awards and recognition and exhibitions that showcased the work of graduating seniors.

Cari Pilgrim of Gainesville, Georgia presented senior thesis materials during the Senior Exhibition Series Group II. Pilgrim is majoring in studio art.

The department presented awards to 26 art students. Additionally, the department's Senior Exhibition Series featured 18 graduating seniors, several of whom also won awards.

"The faculty within the Department of Visual Arts is very proud of these graduating seniors. The art works they produce for this capstone exhibition demonstrate their commitment and hard work in developing their craft and personal aesthetic," said Jon Mehlferber, an associate professor of visual arts. "Though it signals the end of their college careers, it is also heralds the beginning to their careers as practicing artists."
